ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has ordered the federal government to compensate the family of Haroon Muhammad, a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa citizen missing for fifteen years, with Rs 30 lakh.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb mandated that the compensation be paid to Haroon Muhammad’s father before the next hearing. The court also directed the IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to provide security to the petitioner’s family, following reports of threats.

The petitioner’s lawyer, Iman Mazari Advocate, highlighted the family’s ongoing threats for pursuing the case. The High Court further instructed the Home Secretary to ensure a case is registered against the involved security personnel. The case has been adjourned for two weeks.
