No officer or official allowed to use social media, especially Twitter handles: FBR
Chairman FBR bans all officials from speaking to media. The Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed a strict ban on all officers and officials of the FBR, including members, from communicating with media persons (print and electronic) on any matter.
The FBR notification revealed that the FBR has implemented the ban with immediate effect.
As per instructions issued by FBR to FBR members and Director Generals, it has been observed that there has been a tendency among officers to interact with media persons (print or electronic) without the permission of the competent authority.
“This action is a violation of the rules of conduct. Therefore, it is directed that henceforth, no officer or official other than spokesperson FBR is allowed to interact with the media on any matter,” the notification said.
