Chicken prices increase day by day in Punjab ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
LAHORE: The price of poultry chicken has been increased in Punjab during the holy month of Ramadan, while the government has failed to crack down on the nasty profiters.
The escalating prices have put a huge pressure on consumers’ purchasing power, with the cost of poultry meat reaching Rs 600+ per kg in local market. This surge marks a 30% increase in poultry prices over the past month, exacerbating market volatility.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued instructions to the administration to monitor all market rates across the province.
