PTI’s Latif Khosa & Salman Akram Raja Released. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Salman Akram Raja and Sardar Latif Khosa have been released from custody on Monday morning in Lahore.
The leaders were arrested in connection with nationwide protests staged by PTI leaders and workers on Sunday, condemning alleged rigging in the February 8 general election and the purported theft of mandate.
PTI leaders and supporters demonstrated across the country, with rallies held in various cities including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Kandhkot, and Tank.
Following their release, Shehbaz Khosa, son of Sardar Latif Khosa, expressed relief, stating that his father had been arrested by the Cantt station house officer (SHO) and their whereabouts were initially unknown. However, with their release, the family can now breathe a sigh of relief.
In addition to Raja and Khosa, PTI-backed provincial assembly member Hafiz Farhat Abbas was also arrested during the protests against alleged election rigging. However, details regarding Abbas’ status were not provided in the statement.
Similarly, senior PTI leader and lawyer Salman Akram Raja was arrested in Lahore’s Ichhra area. The circumstances surrounding Raja’s arrest were not immediately disclosed.
