Moon Sighted, Ramadan to Begin Tomorrow. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan has officially announced that the Ramadan moon has been sighted, marking the beginning of the sacred month. Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad declared the news after a meeting of clerics representing various schools of thought. This announcement comes after the sighting of the Ramadan moon in Lahore and Peshawar earlier in the day.
While Ramadan has already commenced in several parts of the world, including the Middle East and Europe, there were high expectations for the moon to be sighted in Pakistan today. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee convened its meeting in Peshawar and has urged all Pakistanis to cooperate to ensure that the holy month begins uniformly across the country.
Simultaneously, zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees held meetings at their respective locations after Asr prayers on Shaban 29 to sight the Ramadan moon for Hijri year 1445.
According to the Met Office, the Ramadan moon was expected to be born at 2 pm on Sunday and could be sighted today, when its age would be more than 28 hours.

During Ramadan, which is observed with great religious fervor, millions of Pakistanis, along with billions of Muslims worldwide, will fast from dawn till sunset. Fasting durations will vary between 12 to 17 hours, depending on geographical locations.
In Pakistan, Ramadan is characterized by increased charity and public food drives, with people setting up roadside stalls to provide food for those returning home in the evening.
