Mohsin Naqvi Elected Unopposed as PCB Chairman. In a significant development, Punjab’s Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has been elected unopposed as the new Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The decision was made during a Governing Board meeting held at the National Cricket Academy.
Mohsin Naqvi and Mustafa Ramday were the contenders for the position of Chairman, however, Mohsin Naqvi emerged victorious in the eleventh hour of the contest.
Mohsin Naqvi has been appointed as the head of the PCB for a tenure of three years, making him the 37th Chairman of the PCB and the 33rd person to hold this position.
Previously, individuals such as Najam Sethi, Ehsan Mani, and Shaharyar Khan have served as Chairman of the PCB on multiple occasions.
The former Chairman of the PCB, Ramiz Raja, was dismissed from his post in December 2022, leading to a 14-month period before the appointment of a new Chairman.
Following Ramiz Raja’s removal, a PCB Management Committee was formed with Najam Sethi as its head. However, just six months later, Najam Sethi was replaced by Ehsan Mani.
