Election campaigns end tonight. The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced that the electoral campaign will officially conclude at midnight tonight, according to an official statement released.
The statement further elaborated that any violation of the code of conduct will prompt immediate action from the Election Commission, with strict enforcement of restrictions on all types of exit polls in the media. Media outlets are allowed to begin publishing unofficial results one hour after the conclusion of media polling. It is emphasized that these results are unofficial and non-governmental.
Moreover, the statement outlined that Returning Officers will release and finalize unofficial results from polling stations. Media outlets are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines during the electoral process, with strict penalties for any violations. Directives for action have been issued to PEMRA and the Press Information Department in case of any infractions.
