ECP Completes Printing of Ballot Papers Ahead of Election. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that printing of ballot papers has been completed.
The ECP said in a statement that 260 million ballot papers were printed for 859 constituencies. A total of 2,170 tonnes of paper were used in the printing.
The statement added that the printing was completed in three institutions under strict security.
The ECP said that the number of candidates in 2024 was 150 times that of 2018’s candidates.
The Commissio said that in addition to the high number of candidates, it was also confronted with the challenge of many cases pending in courts. However, the printing was completed as per schedule, ECP said.
The ballot papers will be transported to their respective constituencies by Monday.
ANP & QWP to contest elections together
Awami National Party and Qaumi Watan Party have announced an alliance on two National Assembly seats in Charsadda for the upcoming elections.
The alliance was announced by ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan and QWP leader Aftab Sherpao in a press conference in Charsadda.

As per the agreement, ANP’s candidate Irfan Alam will back out of elections and the party will lend its support to Aftab Sherpao in NA-24.
In NA-25, QWP candidate Qaiser Jamal will drop out of the race in favour of Aimal Wali Khan who will be a joint candidate.
