“Nawaz Sharif Calls for Accountability of Those Behind His Ouster During PML-N Meeting”
Nawaz Sharif Unyielding: Intensifies Demand for Uncompromising ‘Accountability’. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid, Nawaz Sharif, reiterated his demand for accountability of those responsible for his removal as prime minister. Addressing the party’s parliamentary board meeting in Lahore, Sharif emphasized that the country thrived from 2013 to 2017, and blamed the current economic challenges on the removal of competent leaders.
This marks the second time in two days that Sharif has called for accountability since his return from a four-year exile in London. In a previous address to PML-N ticket aspirants, he accused former generals and judges of lodging false cases against him.
During the meeting, Sharif highlighted the economic progress during his tenure and expressed concern about the challenges faced by the nation in the last four years. He credited his brother, Shehbaz Sharif, for preventing a potential default.
Addressing the upcoming general elections on February 8, Sharif mentioned the PML-N’s commitment to the country’s development. He recalled his 2013 election campaign, emphasizing honesty in promises and refusing to make false assurances about ending loadshedding in six months.
