Aafaq Wazir is an officer of Pakistan Administrative Services from 40th Common.
Aafaq Wazir is a former Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar who took charge of his office on 18 September 2023. He is a Grade 18 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) from the 40th Common.
Earlier, he held several important positions in his career. He was serving as Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) prior to this position. Previously, he worked as Additional Secretary Irrigation, Deputy Commissioner Kurram, Additional Deputy Commissioner Attock, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jhelum, Assistant Commissioner Khushab and Assistant Commissioner Jhelum, among others. His major assignments included posting as Deputy Commissioner in two major districts of KPK, i.e. Kurram and Peshawar.
He is a medical doctor and a graduate of Khyber Medical College. He has also studied from Cadet College Kohat. He joined the Civil Service of Pakistan in 2010.

Prior to joining service, he has worked as a medical practitioner in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Later, after joining service, he was able to join the PAS group of CSS which was formerly the District Management Group or DMG group. This group is responsible for overall administrative activities in the country right from Pakistan’s independence in 1947.
