The Rawalpindi’s dengue total tally had reached 720 positive cases with the arrival of 58 more patients during the last 24 hours.
Dengue tally reaches 720 cases in Rawalpindi, Punjab Health Department said that 58 fresh cases of dengue were detected in the last 24 hours in Rawalpindi, while 12 patients are in serious condition at the hospital.
Health authorities said 46 patients are being treated at Holy Family Hospital, 40 in DHQ and 28 dengue patients are being treated at Benazir Hospital.

the district administration had registered 50 FIRs, issued tickets to eight, sealed three premises, and a fine of Rs45,000 was imposed against the violations of dengue SOPs, during last 24 hours.
Dengue virus is that has rapidly spread in recent years around the world. Dengue virus is transmitted by female mosquitoes mainly of the species Aedes aegypti and, to a lesser extent, Ae. albopictus.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In the wake of a surge in dengue fever cases, the authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday declared five districts as high-risk zones.
According to the authorities in the Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five districts including Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda and Battagram were among the risky zones with regard to dengue fever spread.
The number of people affected with dengue virus has reached to 165 in the province, the health authorities said adding that in Peshawar district 38 cases of dengue virus infection were reported followed by Mardan with 32 cases, Swabi 19 cases, Charsadda 14 cases and Battagram with 12 dengue cases.
Till date, the authorities said the cases of dengue fever have been reported from 20 districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A few cases of dengue in some of the districts including Bannu, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Khyber, Tor Ghar and Haripur were also reported in the last couple of days.
The caretaker advisor for health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed stern preventive measures in sensitive districts of the province.
SYMPTOMS
Dengue should be suspected when a high fever (40°C/104°F) is accompanied by 2 of the following symptoms during the febrile phase:
- severe headache
- pain behind the eyes
- muscle and joint pains
- nausea
- vomiting
- swollen glands
- rash.
