IGP Punjab addresses press conference after concluding ‘Zaman Park operation’. Punjab police chief Saturday claimed to have recovered over a dozen assault rifles and material to make petrol bombs from the residence of former prime minister Imran Khan during an operation.
During a press conference in Lahore, Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar said that the house of PTI chairman in Zaman Park was converted into a “bunker” and the police made their entry on the court orders.
While several footages of police torture on Imran Khan’s personal staff made it to social media, the top cop said they showed restraint even as a police superintendent was taken hostage by PTI supporters.

Earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Zaman Park has been cleared and police found 16 rifles from Imran Khan’s residence.
“Zaman Park was a ‘no-go area’ causing hassle for general public,” Sanaullah said. “I.G. Punjab will bring all things before the nation,” federal minister said.
“Police had search warrant for the PTI leader’s home and found 16 rifles from the residence,” he said.
“People also pelted stones at policemen today, which went to the area to clear the ‘no-go area’, he said.
Interior Minister said that there is no plan to arrest Imran Khan, he is appearing before the court, “it was our objective” he said.
