He said that Sajid Akram, who killed 15 people by shooting at the Hanukkah festival, was an Indian and his son Naveed Akram was an Australian citizen. Sajid Akram did his B.Com from Hyderabad and migrated to Australia 27 years ago in search of employment.

Indian police said that Sajid Akram married a European woman, Miss Venus Grosso, and had settled permanently in Australia. Sajid Akram has two children, a son, Naveed Akram, and a daughter.

The attacker’s relatives said that Sajid Akram had limited contact with his family in Hyderabad for 27 years and had visited India six times after moving to Australia to deal with property matters or to meet his parents.

The relatives further said that Sajid Akram did not visit India even when his father passed away, while family members expressed ignorance of Sajid Akram’s extremist thoughts or activities.

Indian police said that Sajid Akram and Naveed’s extremist motives do not appear to have any connection to India or Telangana and that Telangana police did not have any negative records of Sajid Akram even before his departure in 1998.

Telangana police reiterated its commitment to cooperate with central agencies and other counterparts and requested the public and media to refrain from speculating or making allegations without proper facts.

Earlier today, the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has paid a visit to Ahmed Al Ahmed, the hero of the Sydney Bondi Beach terror attack, and praised his bravery. Ahmed saved the lives of several people by snatching a gun from the attacker.

The Prime Minister said after meeting Ahmed in hospital that “this is a great example of the strength of humanity in a time where we have seen evil. We are a brave country, and Ahmed Al Ahmed represents our country perfectly.”

Ahmed showed courage even after being shot several times in the shoulder. The Prime Minister said that Ahmed will have another operation on Wednesday.

Ahmed came to Australia from Syria almost 10 years ago and has received praise from around the world for his bravery, including praise from US President Donald Trump.
