Mobile phone data services in Islamabad have been fully restored.
Motorways reopened after four days of closure. Following the announcement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to end their protest, all motorways have been reopened to traffic after being closed for four days.
Motorways connecting major cities, including Islamabad and Lahore, have now been cleared, with ongoing efforts to remove containers blocking the roads. According to a spokesperson for the motorway police, the M2 motorway, which connects Lahore and Islamabad, has been opened for traffic, as well as the M11, linking Lahore to Sialkot. The M4 motorway, stretching from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem, the M14 from Hakkla to Dera Ismail Khan, and M3 are all now operational. Additionally, the M1 motorway, connecting Islamabad to Peshawar, has been cleared for travel.
The Lahore Traffic Police have confirmed that all internal and external routes to the city are now open. The Lahore-Islamabad and Lahore-Sialkot motorways, as well as the Eastern Bypass, are fully operational. Traffic on Lahore’s Ring Road is flowing smoothly, with normal conditions observed within the city as well.
In Islamabad, where roads had been blocked by containers, these obstructions have been cleared, and all streets are now open to traffic. The city’s traffic flow has returned to normal, with the process of removing containers from various points in Rawalpindi and Islamabad still underway.
Additionally, mobile phone data services in Islamabad, Pakistan have been fully restored, and educational institutions in the city are scheduled to reopen tomorrow, Thursday.
