Islamabad, Rawalpindi schools and colleges to reopen tomorrow. All government and private schools in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will reopen from tomorrow (Thursday) after a three-day closure due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests.
As per the details, the announcement was made by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi after authorities conducted a clearance operation to disperse PTI protesters from the protest area.
“Schools will reopen from tomorrow (Thursday), and mobile internet services will be restored by Wednesday morning,” Naqvi confirmed.
Schools were closed since Saturday in response to the planned PTI protest on November 24, raising concerns among parents about the impact on students’ education.
Parents in the twin cities expressed frustration over the prolonged closure, noting the challenges it poses to their children’s academic progress. While some areas have adopted online classes as an alternative, many parents argue that they are inadequate compared to in-person learning, especially for younger students.
Normalcy returned to Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Wednesday morning, with all road blockages removed. Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon directed assistant commissioners to ensure immediate reopening of all roads and directed cleaning operations at key intersections to restore the city’s functionality.
Furthermore, internet services, which had been disrupted in the wake of the protests, have been fully restored across Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The situation is expected to stabilize further as the security forces continue to ensure public order in the capital.
As political tensions ease, authorities are hopeful that normalcy will be restored quickly, allowing citizens to resume their daily routines without further disruption.
